Review by hotel critic
During my recent Easter getaway at Hotel & Restaurant Fakkelgaarden, I found a charming blend of comfort and culinary delight, perfect for both nature enthusiasts and food lovers alike. The location, with easy access by car and ample parking, set the stage for a relaxing retreat, allowing my friends and me to explore the nearby Flensborg Fjord with ease. The dining experience was quite memorable, especially with the attentive service from the staff, who, despite the language barrier, always greeted us with warmth. The restaurant offered a carefully crafted menu, with highlights including a delightful pea soup and a fresh salad; however, the mains were somewhat inconsistent. Nevertheless, the exquisite view from the terrace truly made it all worthwhile, as we enjoyed our meals amidst breathtaking scenery-though we were less fortunate with the weather. After a restful night in the spacious double room, complete with a lovely bay window, we indulged in a delicious breakfast that showcased the hotel's specialities, setting the tone for a day of hiking and exploration around Kruså. For anyone seeking a relaxing yet gourmet experience, Fakkelgaarden is definitely worth a visit-just be prepared for a bit of culinary hit or miss!
